A world leader in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries and illnesses, Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the spine, shoulder, elbow, knee, hand, and foot, as well as orthopedic trauma, arthritis, and work-related injuries.


A paid reserach internship opportunity with Neal S. ElAttrache, MD who is a sports medicine surgeon and a member of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic Board of Directors. He is also the Fellowship Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, the oldest and largest sports medicine fellowship program in the country, with eight Sports Medicine Fellows.  A robust research program is an integral part of the fellowship program.

This research internship opportunity provides exposure and learning as it relates to the execution of a high-level orthopaedic and sports medicine research program. Specifically, the internship will support learning and observation in the planning, execution and follow-up of a clinical research program, the understanding and manipulation of the clinical research databases, the preparation and planning involved with the academic and research presentations, as well as the understanding and collation of digital libraries, instructional videos and photo files.

Preference will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in medical school with an interest in pursuing a career in Orthopaedics, and able to devote a gap year to research, or those that have completed medical school and pursuing a research gap year.

The internship is located at the Karlen-Jobe Park Terrace Los Angeles campus and not on the Cedars-Sinai main campus in Beverly Hills.
