The University of Illinois Chicago Department of Orthopaedics is accepting applications for a 1 year research fellowship beginning in May 2023. This is an excellent opportunity to design, execute and complete Orthopaedic research in a variety of areas including clinical biomechanics, outcomes research, medical education, and virtual reality.

Appointment Start: Early-mid May 2023
Appointment Length: 1 year
Compensation: Salaried position
Who: Medical Students. Preference given to students who have completed MS4, but will accept applications from students between MS3/4.
What: Perform a variety of Orthopaedic research in several domains: clinical biomechnics, retrospective and prospective outcomes, database studies, case reports, meta-analyses, and systemic reviews amongst others. Will also mentor medical students conducting research in the department. Although there will be no clinical experience, fellows will collaborate directly with the chair of the department, Dr. Mark H. Gonzalez MD, PhD, in addition to current residents and other faculty. Fellows will have opportunity to attend resident education.
