Announcing a One-Year Fellowship/Associate Attending Position in Adult Reconstructive Joint Replacement & Managing Surgical Delivery Systems

This unique fellowship experience focuses on both the clinical aspects and the business/healthcare delivery features of the range of surgery related to joint replacement.

 

 

Overview:

The joint replacement service at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center has been an example of the development of a high-level joint replacement service within a urban, diverse medical community with recognized clinical, business, and healthcare delivery successes. It was developed from the ground-up using principles from nationally regarded joint replacement programs and business schools. The focus of the fellowship is the complete package of joint replacement delivery- clinical, business, and research allowing the graduate to transfer the fellowship experience into a future career.

Clinical:

The fellowship includes outpatient and surgical experience. The operating room is highly efficient and the fellow will start with learning the proper setup and development of the operating room environment. Surgical technique is highly valued in this fellowship. Fellows will leave the fellowship with a wide range of early intervention, primary, and revision experience.

Business:

Fellows will be integrally involved in the marketing, patient satisfaction, referral doctor communication, and data development projects of the program. Also included in this fellowship is enrollment in a specific 3 week onsite/8 month online Executive Education Program at a prestigious business school studying the area of Managing Healthcare Delivery.

Research:

The research is mainly public health and epidemiology driven research looking at the unique aspects of joint replacement delivery in medical systems.

Fellowship/Assistant Attending Status:

The fellow will be carefully chosen based on their interest in the nature of this fellowship. The Fellow will need to go through the rigorous hospital credentialing department as a full-Attending in Orthopaedic Surgery and the salary will be an attractive Assistant Attending level. In addition, application to the business school program will also need to be submitted through our department.

The fellowship is open only to applicants who are eligible for unrestricted licenses in the State of New York.
