We are proud to announce that our Inova Sports Medicine Fellowship has been ACGME accredited for one fellow to start August 1, 2021. The program will be involved in the SF Match for future years, but as the accreditation is new we will be outside of the match for this coming 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 years. Centered in Fairfax, VA at INOVA Sports Medicine, this Northern Virginia program will provide the applicant an outstanding education as well as many extracurricular activities in the heart of the  Washington DC Metro area. This new program will offer a broad range of clinical, surgical and research opportunities. The clinical experience will include non-operative and surgical management of sports related injuries of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, shoulder and elbow. Extensive ultrasound training will also be offered. The Fellow will rotate with 5 principal orthopaedic sports fellowship trained attendings during the course of the year in a very collegial block format. Attending staff include Robin West MD, Brandon Bryant MD, Robert Najarian MD, Jeffrey Giuliani MD and Edward Chang MD. The fellow will gain substantial experience managing athletes in and out of season, focusing on injury prevention, treatment, recovery, and performance.  The fellow will collaborate with our team of orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, neuropsychologists, physical therapists and strength and conditioning coaches to provide our patients comprehensive care. The fellow will have the opportunity to provide care to the local MLB, NFL and NWSL teams. Research opportunities are broad and collaborative and will include clinical and biomechanical studies. The overall goal of the INOVA Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship program is to teach our fellow to work collectively with the entire medical team to provide compendious care to the athletes, to become an exceptional clinician and a top leader in the field of sports medicine. Please direct any questions and application inquiries to Dr. Brandon Bryant, Fellowship Program Director at This email address is being protected from spambots.
