University of Pennsylvania Foot and Ankle Fellow
Open Position 2021-2022
The University of Pennsylvania Health System at Pennsylvania Hospital, located in Philadelphia, has an open foot and ankle fellowship position for 2021-2022 (beginning August 2021). This is a one-year, NON-ACGME-accredited, full-time, paid fellowship position. Program information, including salary and benefits, are listed below. The Penn Foot and Ankle Fellowship is designed to provide a comprehensive exposure to all aspects of orthopaedic foot and ankle pathology and incorporates extensive clinic, operative, and research experience. Fellows work with Dr. Casey J. Humbyrd, Dr. Wen Chao, Dr. Daniel C. Farber, Dr.  Anthony “Bobby” Ndu, and Dr. L. Scott Levin gaining exposure to a wide variety of foot and ankle problems. Weekly interactive teaching / indication conferences as well as journal clubs and research meetings are conducted.  The fellowship covers adult reconstructive surgery and includes management of post-traumatic disorders, rheumatoid disorders, acquired adult disorders of the foot and ankle, sports medicine, low-energy trauma and diabetic and neuropathic disorders of the foot and ankle. The majority of the research done in this program is clinically based and at least one publishable research project is required during the fellowship. Through a comprehensive curriculum, journal clubs, cadaver labs and hands-on clinic and surgical experiences, we strive to cover all aspects of the AOFAS Foot and Ankle fellowship curriculum. Utilizing four experienced foot and ankle surgeons and a double boarded orthopaedic and plastic surgeon, all elements of adult orthopaedic foot and ankle care are addressed as well as some pediatric and adolescent care. Surgical procedures not routinely performed by staff are discussed at conference, so fellows learn the entire range of procedure options for foot and ankle disorders. Fellows will have the opportunity to travel to multiple conferences during the year. Program CoordinatorMarianne K. Ostrow, RN, MSN, ONC
