Vanderbilt Orthopaedics Trauma Research Fellowship 2023-2024
The Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute is recruiting a highly-qualified medical student for a clinical research fellowship with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Trauma division. The research fellow will be involved in both prospective and retrospective clinical research projects, and will work as a member of a dedicated research team. Our trauma team conducts numerous studies associated with Major Extremity Trauma Research Consortium (METRC). The research fellow will work closely with orthopaedic trauma faculty on literature review, publication development, and IRB submissions and updates for multiple studies. The fellow will also work closely with attending surgeons and orthopaedic residents, maximizing their exposure to the field of orthopaedic surgery and enhancing their residency application. Fellows with also have the opportunity to attend orthopedic lectures, resident education, journal clubs, and Grand Rounds.
This funded position offers the opportunity to conduct impactful research within the field of Orthopaedic trauma. Multiple publications should be expected and one-on-one mentorship will be provided throughout the Orthopaedic match process.
Ideal candidates are highly motivated US medical students (or potentially graduates) who are looking to boost their CV in order to match in competitive orthopedic residency programs. Applicants unsuccessful in the 2023 Match will be considered.

Timeline: July 1 2023- June 30 2024. (Start date is negotiable.)
