Richard- Fundamentals of Orthopaedics by Brinker and Miller is a great entry level text that I really enjoyed, and it helped me tremendously during my ortho rotations: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846 Also, Netter's concise Atlas or Orthopaedic Anatomy is a new, small book that fits in the white coat easily, and has great pics and clinically relevant material. Hope this helps

Go to the library and check out "Lovell and Winter's Pediatric Orthopedics" It is a two volume set, but provides farely short chapters on the majority of the stuff you'll see on a peds ortho rotation. I wouldn't recommend reading it from cover to cover, but to read selected chapters after you figure out what you'rs seeing on the rotation.
