Let the games begin.
Who wants to volunteer to be the person that handles all of the PMs and posts them here anonymously? Not it.

How about this, who hasn't heard from any program yet after interviews? Total silence for me.

I also have not heard anything from any programs. I was told by more than one PD during interviews that they were going to try and minimize post-interview contact this year. That being said, I'm pretty sure I heard of one program sending something out.

At least 4-5 programs that I interviewed at specifically said they would not engage in any post-interview contact, so it does seem like programs are cutting down on it. However, I am sure programs will still do it, especially those that seem to have done it every year in the past. I guess we will see if there is an explosion this week...

Frankly, doubtful we'll hear much. I wonder if this type of communication really matters to both sides? Applicants will still keep places in rank order, and places will still strive to get the people they want. The algorithm is such that "gaming" doesn't work. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Assuming that students do not alter their ROLs because of it, it shouldn't matter (other than give us neurotic folks a piece of mind - or maybe just false hope ha). It can change though if a student moves a program ahead of another program they would have matched at because of contact - which is why post-interview contact is really more beneficial for the programs and not the applicants.

There's some utility in knowing that you have a class of residents who really want to be there, as opposed to be their 4th or 5th choice.

Agreed, which is why it may help you to let the programs high on your ROL where they stand. Well I will bite the bullet and agree to post contact anonymously if anyone wants to share- just PM me and I will post it...

I don't understand why posting 'anonymously' would help anybody's cause- I doubt most people know who the usernames on orthogate correspond to.

How does post-interview contact assure this? Not sure I see the logic there - programs can call people who still won't rank them #1

Has anybody heard from HSS that they will or will not be ranked? If so, what did the email/letter say?

So I sent in my "you're my first rank" love letter a few weeks ago, and have gotten zero response from the program. Anyone else? Should I take that as a sign that they're just not that into me? Congrats guys on certifying the rank list today. We've all worked really hard to get here.

I did the same a couple weeks ago, but really just received a generic response back. Also, I did not receive any post interview contact, so that was a bummer. March 17th can't get here quick enough.

Seems to be quiet this year - I wouldn't be worried. Also - on reputable sources, several places who got posted in the forum as "calling" last year apparently didn't actually call. So I think the total number of places who have post-interview contact are inflated. Good Luck! Three Weeks!!!

I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't get any feedback from your "love letter" - vast majority of people I have talked to get a generic e-mail or nothing back also. Definitely think that contact was quieter this year from programs but I also think applicants seem to be quieter this year as I know many programs that still did call or e-mail applicants. Nothing to do now but wait! Good luck everyone!
