hate to keep flooding the boards with ms4 stuff... but it seems like it's about that time of year. anyway, i'm a "competitive" pre-orthopod ms3 looking at doing away rotations in the southwest (tx, ok, ks, mo, etc). i've got my heart set on doing 2, & i was wondering: (1) which programs look favorably on rotating ms4's (i've heard that at some it doesn't matter), (2) at which programs others have had good experiences in this region, & (3) how to decide which programs are realistic & which are unrealistic for me to consider (234, top 1/4, good ms3 year so far) - i've never seen any type of "competitiveness" rank list. my list so far goes Wash U, Baylor, UTSouthwestern, KU in KC, UM in KC, & OU trying to apply to programs with good academics or where i have a good shot. i would appreciate your input. thanks, nordberg
Hi, I can't speak for all the programs on your list but I'll try. The programs in Texas which take primarily rotators are UTSW, UT-Houston, Temple, and Tech. Don't know much about tech but the other three programs are great. Baylor and UK-KC do not seem to not have a implicit preference for rotators. UMKC has been rumored to be malignant in the past but I didn't apply there so I can't say. If you have questions about specific programs in the area, pm me. I interviewed at many of the programs in the area.
