Congrats to everyone on the big day. In the tradition of the board, could you post your credentials and where you matched? It would be much appreciated.
Step I: 250 Step II: Still haven't taken. Ranked No. 1 in class. No real research, no pubs. Middle tier state school. Applied to 40, offered 24 interviews, took 11, ranked 10. Top 5: 1.) Oregon Health Sciences 2.) Mayo 3.) Duke 4.) Miami 5.) San Antonio Matched at No. 1 in Portland! This is an unreal feeling.

I may have been a bit too snotty at some of the smaller programs I ranked higher. Had a GREAT interview at campbell. Glad this is all over!

Well, guess I'll chime in... Step I : 249 Step II: Just took it, sure its lower than I State School, awesome home program AOA (+) GPA: 3.91 Zero research, only "big hole" in the application, depending on where you want to do your next five and after, Applied to 31 places in South + near South/Texas and Colorado Offfered 19 interviews Matched at No. 1 Would have been happier than "Fa Schizzel Ma Nizzel" to match at any of top 6. Top six in no certain order were: Carolinas Campbell Chattanooga Gainesville Greenville Chapel Hill Next four were also great, really great programs, and next to best places to be: Little Rock Augusta Lexington Columbia, MO Two places I would rather not want to match, but would have been glad to do Ortho rather than other: Columbia, MO 6yr Columbia, SC Richmond, VA In the end, I didn't end up going to or ranking anywhere that I would not be proud to be trained as an orthopaedic surgeon. For all you MS3's, apply everywhere that you would be willing to live, that will train you to do your trade, and that you can branch out of. Some of the programs are better for individual reasons, I was o-so happy to end up where I am, but there is a best place for everyone, and that's where you go. But, apply to plenty, just be sure. )
