Baylor ... The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine extends to you an invitation to interview for an orthopedic resident position. Interviews will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2003 with a dinner the evening before.
Nice job, T! Did Baylor contact you by e-mail or snail mail?

Having known a few people who trained very recently at UTSA, I feel obligated to add something in the programs defense. 1. UTSA trains some excellent surgeons. 2. UTSA has some big names (Rockwood, Green, and Miller to name three) that add a lot to the program. It is my understanding UTSA is on probation because of unsupervised resident cases and poor academics with a few of the recent graduates failing their boards. With that said, I did not apply there, but for other reasons. If you are interested in the program, be assured that you will work your ass off and finish with skills far superior to many of the graduates of programs advertising >90 percentile board scores.
