From the Annual report in JAMA Vol 294 Sept 2005 As of August 1, 2004 (always a year before) 152 orthopedic residency programs 3085 Ortho Residents 2999 (97.2%) USMDs 303 (9.8 %) females 64 (2.1%) IMGs 2 (0.1%) Canadians 20 (0.6%) DOs
With 3085 total ortho residents, I am assuming there are roughly 617 seats available for next year's class (3085/5, although there are 6 year programs and some programs may have unfilled seats). Does anyone know how many folks apply to ortho and what percentage actually match? Thanks.
