Questioner Registered User Posts: 2 (2/12/01 11:01:47 am) Reply Letters and Calls It has been brought to my attention that many programs actually do contact applicants after the interview process is complete to stress their interests in a particular individual. I thought it might assist other applicants, especially those who have interviewed at "strong" programs if some feedback is given on which programs do this. In gaining this knowledge an applicant can have some idea if a program is truly intersted.(i.e. - if everyone gets a letter from a particular program then the impact is much less and is sent so applicants may consider ranking an institution higher) In replying comment on whether a phone call was made, letter sent, or email received. An example: Rush in Chicago calls its top candidates to find out what they are thinking. Case Western calls its top candidates and sends letters to their top twenty. orthosurg1 Registered User Posts: 3 (2/12/01 1:48:36 pm) Reply program replies Through the grapevine, I have heard that U of Kansas sends many applicants letters to tell them of their interest. Arkansas calls its top four from what I have heard. They contacted what I recall as their top 8 candidates, keeping in fairly close touch with them up until the match.
