no phone call, no matter how flattering, should ever be interpreted by an applicant as a hint to stop interviewing. when you stop should only be a function of the number of interviews you get and/or when *you* have had enough

I know that Wisconsin, Iowa and Mayo have made phone calls. On a side note, I can't believe the match is only 5 weeks away! It's starting to get hairy.

I know, from speaking with two attendings on the residency committee, that Mayo rarely goes past 20 in their ranklist, for their 10 spots. I would assume that they would make phone calls to their top 15 or 20 and perhaps letters to the next tier. I am making this assumption based on one fact, so take this with a grain of salt. Dr. Egol told us on our interview day that NYU-HJD doesn't make calls.

Does anyone know any info on Mayo? I heard they send letters to some. How many get phone calls?

According to their residents, Mayo calls their top 10. Apparently, you can contact the residency coordinator and find out what "tier" youre in. Don't know anything about the letters for this year but dont think they were sent out last year.

Got an email from Yale stating that they recieved full 5 year accreditation and that they were pleased to have met me, I am assuming that everyone who interviewed recieved this? Did anyone/everyone else that interviewed there get this email?
