Do you know if programs offer interview spots to people based on when the ERAS mailbox opens for downloads in early August, or if they wait until their deadlines before they start finding people to interview? That kind of decides, I think, whether or not getting the applications done "early" matters. If they don't wait, then maybe people who get their stuff done by about August 15 have a leg up on those who get their stuff uploaded by the time deadlines come around. hurricane26 Registered User Posts: 14 (6/15/01 6:22:45 pm) Reply Get it done EARLY I would recommend getting it done very soon and get it over with. You never know what glitch may arise. Most will wait for the deadline, but a few will have a rolling type review of the applications as they come in. The latest would be Nov. 1st. That is when most are due. If you wait until then you may miss some Oct. 1st and 15th deadlines. Start working on your personal statement now, this is the most time consuming part of the application. Another hint is that most ortho programs don't start offering interviews until after November 1st, so don't get discouraged when your friends doing peds or medicine have 15 interviews lined up by mid October, yours will come.
