Rotation Question

Hello, I am FMG with scores 83/84/pass, they are low. I have a MS in Ortho from india. As my scores are low, am working on others things and hopefully it will help. Did 3 months of observership, and from 6months research in FL, did 3 papers but no publications yet. Unfortunately the place where am doing research don't have residency positions, they have fellowships. In FL there are 4 places Gainesville, Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando, can anyone pls tell me how to get a rotation, which one is FMG friendly, and can i do in the weekends(as am doing research mon-fri) any information will be helpfull as i don't have any idea how it works. Applied to 90+ programs, and 30 in GS preliminary. I am very much interested in orthopaedics, pls someone guide me. Thanks
Honestly, you have many factors against you. Not only are you an FMG but your scores are sub par, and you wont have strong letters from US ortho docs. If you want to get into I suggest taking 2 years off, doing some rotations if they allow you since osme programs most US programs dont allow FMG to rotate, and doing research and afte a couple of years trying again, but still have back ups even then will be tough. good luck.

If you want to get into I suggest taking 2 years off, doing some rotations if they allow you since osme programs most US programs dont allow FMG to rotate, and doing research and afte a couple of years trying again, but still have back ups even then will be tough. good luck.

Hello, which one is FMG friendly
just call them and ask.. I think you should find FMG "friendly" + BIG programs where they have prelim surgery also. Instead of waisting your time on rotations try to impress people while working as intern in ortho service. You might even find 2nd year position in ortho after surg. internship.

why not train/practice in india or wherever? is ortho that much better/different in the US? just curious...
