However, I will say that your board score will mean you get fewer interviews; as you know, due to the high volume of applications ortho programs need a marker to sort by. I will tell you that I am in your neighborhood on Step I and II, and I received 9 invitations to interview out of 34 total applications. Techno Registered User Posts: 6 (2/21/01 7:02:55 pm) Reply No way 224 is fine. I hate to say this, but a 224 will hurt you more if you go to a state school than if you go to a "brand-name" school. If you go to a top 10 medical school, you can get away with scoring >210 as long as the rest of your application is strong (e.g. research, grades, letters). You need to score >230 otherwise. Strength in numbers! Apply to many places to secure as many interviews as possible. 224 may preclude you from getting a high number of interviews, but it shouldn't matter once you actually get that interview. Make sure those rec letters are good.
