LSU Student Research Fellowship - Adult & Pediatric Tracks LSU Ortho Student Research Fellowship
Application due May 1st 2024.
This opportunity allows highly motivated students interested in orthopedics to spend a year integrated into our academic orthopedics department. You will constantly engage with faculty, residents, and department researchers as you learn the basic principles of research design, methodology, data analysis, and how to navigate the process from IRB application to manuscript submission. Beyond research, there are weekly opportunities for clinical exposure including surgery, clinic, and department conferences. There are 3 tracks available: basic science, pediatric orthopaedics, centered at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, and adult orthopaedics, centered at the LSU medical school campus (however, all fellows will spend some time at each location).
- 1 academic year (fall to summer) commitment
- Develop and complete at least 2-3 independent research projects
- Facilitate ongoing student/resident research projects where needed.
- Manage research website content
- Transport research materials, e.g. from OR to labs [list]
- Personal transportation required
