Clinical Research Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine – New Jersey Orthopaedic Institute

New Jersey Orthopaedic Institute in affiliation with Seton Hall University Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program invites all interested and qualified individuals to apply for a "two-year" orthopaedic research fellowship position with Vincent McInerney, M.D., Anthony Scillia, MD., and Anthony Festa, MD. This is a salaried position that will begin on or before June 1, 2015 and is open to all candidates who will be US medical school graduates by that time.

This presents an opportunity to work with national leaders in the areas of orthopaedic sports medicine, to assist with trials of new devices, to gather and analyze data, to attend and present your work at regional and national conferences, and to prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Previous fellows have published multiple PubMed-listed articles and have presented at the annual AAOS meetings during their fellowships. This is an excellent way to improve your CV and increase your chance of matching to an orthopaedic residency. All previous fellows have matched into orthopaedic residency programs.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:

The term of research fellowship will be “2 years”. Research fellows will work on research projects with an emphasis on orthopaedic sports medicine. Fellows will demonstrate proficiency in the varied aspects of basic and clinical research including study design, IRB compliance, informed consent, data collection, data analysis, statistics, oral presentation, and manuscript preparation.
