A world leader in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries and illnesses, Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai Health System, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the spine, shoulder, elbow, knee, hand, and foot, as well as orthopedic trauma, arthritis, and work-related injuries.

We are excited to offer a paid reserach internship opportunity with Neal S. ElAttrache, MD, sports medicine surgeon and a member of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic Board of Directors, Fellowship Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, the oldest and largest sports medicine fellowship program in the country.

A robust research program is an integral part of the clinic's fellowship program. With eight Sports Medicine Fellows, the research intern will have a remarkable opportunity work alongside and learn from Orthopaedic professionals. The opportunity will provide exposure and learning as it relates to the execution of a high-level orthopaedic and sports medicine research program. Specifically, the intern will support learning and observation in the planning, execution and follow-up of a clinical research program, the understanding and manipulation of the clinical research databases, the preparation and planning involved with the academic and research presentations, as well as the understanding and collation of digital libraries, instructional videos and photo files.

Preference will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in medical school with an interest in pursuing a career in Orthopaedics, and able to devote a gap year to research, or those that have completed medical school and pursuing a research gap year.

The internship will be located at the Karlen-Jobe Park Terrace Los Angeles campus and not on the Cedars-Sinai main campus in Beverly Hills.
