Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Division of Orthopaedics, invites third and fourth year medical students or medical school graduates to apply for a one year paid research instructor position. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated individual looking to expand his/her knowledge of orthopaedics and to work closely with Orthopaedic Surgery faculty, the division chairman, residency program director, residents, and medical students on orthopaedic research projects covering total joint arthroplasty, pediatrics, sports medicine, trauma and spine. The Research Instructor will be responsible for providing clinical and translational research training; collecting and compiling research data for, and initiating and completing research reports and other manuscripts for publication to major scientific journals; leading the Orthopaedic Research Executive Committee monthly meetings; preparing abstracts and manuscripts for submission for presentation at scientific meetings and publication; and preparing and presenting posters, papers, and lectures at scientific meetings.
