Setting Up Outlook Express

You may only have to do this once - when you buy your computer and set up you email account. However, it's common to have to change ISPs and whenever you do you will need to re-configure your email account.

Open the Tools menu and click on Accounts

The Internet Accounts Window is opened. Click on the tab marked mail to see what service accounts are associated with mail

Select the mail account you use and click on Properties.

The Mail Account properties box specific to a particular account (usually one user or one ISP) has a number of tabs at the top. The General one shows the name which the mailing program will send as "your" name with each message. Some people choose nicknames for this line such as "Ira the K" or "BoneDoc" The email address and the reply address (if different) should be accurate otherwise people will not reply to you.
For more information about your server click on the servers tab. This gives you an opportunity to correct the information on the name of the incoming and outgoing mail server and any changes in your account name or password.

The connection tab allows you to review or change the Internet connection details.
