Research spots offered outside the match - UMASS

I know that UMASS offers two research spots outside of the match. I was wondering if anyone knows if those offers have been extended and if the positions have been filled? Anyone know of other programs that fill spots outside of the match?

NYU-HJD has two research spots they basically fill outside the match as well.
