AO vs OTA Courses

Hey - I'm on research now and want to take one of the trauma courses. Does anyone out there know any significant differences between the AO Basic and the OTA resident course? If I had to pick one?

I've already done the OTA powerpoints, and my program is trauma-heavy enough that I've done most basic cases as at least a first assist, with a few exceptions (little pelvic/tab trauma, only a handful of calcs, plateaus and elbows). I kinda want to go straight to the AO Advanced, but I don't think they'll let me.

Any and all advice appreciated.

don't think the AO people will let you skip the basic which is pretty basic, especially if you have done any trauma at all. the good thing about the ao courses is that once you do the basic you can go to all of the advanced, hand, pelvis, foot and ankle courses which are really good. also you might be able to get a grant from synthes to pay for it.
don't know personally, but i heard the ota course is okay, probably pretty comparable.
