How to be a star in Audition rotations?

Postby orthodo123 » Mon May 28, 2012 8:35 pm

Coming from a DO school where we don't have the teaching hospitals so that we don't rotate with residents but directly with attending one-on-one, so I didn't have any experience regard to interacting with residents, working in team, getting along and getting to know them as well as program directors. I want to shine and be the best candidate for a spot next year. Therefore, can any senior student/intern/resident want to advice on this subject, for example what I should/should not do to avoid unnecessary mistakes and how and when I should express my interest to PD.

Thank you!

Also, most residents will (should) give you the heads up in regards to what to expect on each service, each attending, ect. I know at our program we have students rotate 1 week at a time with a different attneding (including the PD). Usually we set them up with the ones that are the most vocal in the selection process.
