Zimmer Gender SolutionsOn Monday, October 16, at 5:00 p.m. CDT, Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL will broadcast on http://www.OR-Live.com   a live total knee replacement procedure featuring the Zimmer Gender Solutions High-Flex Knee, the first knee replacement shaped to fit a woman's anatomy.

The procedure uses an Zimmer MIS™ sub-vastus approach and requires an incision of only 9 to 14 cm, compared with 20 to 30 cm used in a standard knee replacement arthroplasty. Among the goals of this minimally invasive technique are shorter hospital stays, lower blood loss, faster rehabilitation and a more cosmetically appealing surgical scar.


Richard A. Berger, MD, Assistant Professor, Rush University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL, will perform the surgery. The webcast will be moderated by Aaron G. Rosenberg, MD, FACS, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Arthritis and Orthopaedic Institute, Rush Medical College, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL.
