Monte/Einstein, Tuesday, 05 February 2008 Program Information Staff/Faculty/Chairman: Solid chairman. Staff is excellent to learn from and all trained in top residencies and fellowships. All the subspecialties are covered.Didactics/Teaching: Lots of resident on resident teaching...which may be a good thing in the end. Everyone's well prepared for the boards. Operating Experience: Excellent variety of cases...especially the bread and butter. Strong trauma training. Clinic Experience: See a lot of the general stuff that's out there as well as a lot of the "crazy" stuff (advanced stage tumors, significant deformities, etc) Research Opportunities: They are there, and the situation's improved since I graduated. Residents: Well rounded, diverse group of people. Lifestyle: 2nd year is the worst by far, only to get significantly better as a 3, and then it's ~7 calls a month from home as a 4 and 5. Not bad. Location/Housing: NYC is a hop away. Can't beat that. Overall Rotation Experience/Conclusion: Overall excellent training. Graduates go on to top fellowships, and are well prepared for them.
