The Section of Hip Preservation in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University is beginning a fellowship experience that encompasses all aspects of hip preservation surgery. This experience includes: Hip arthroscopy, Periacetabular osteotomy, Surgical dislocation, Treatment of femoral head avascular necrosis with free vascularized fibula grafting, and Hip resurfacing. The experience is a one year fellowship under the direction of Steven A. Olson, MD.

This course has been the standard in teaching lower extremity alignment for the past two decades. It is designed for orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists and allied health professionals who treat long-bone deformities. No prior experience is required. The internationally renowned faculty will introduce basic and advanced limb reconstruction concepts, including corrective osteotomies, limb alignment, limb lengthening and internal and external fixation. The course features lectures, deformity planning sessions, hands-on saw bone labs and a digital radiograph planning lab. Participants will also have an opportunity to present adult, pediatric and podiatric cases to their peers.
